Mentorship is a two-way street

Work from home changes leadership. How do you acculturate people if you’re not all in the same place? Mentorship is important in an evolving workplace, said Prof. Karl Moore on the Six Pixels of Separation podcast. But it’s a two-way street. “I have some mentors that are older than me, and it doesn’t occur to them to ask my advice,” says Moore. “But I often tell young people that thirty per cent of the time they’re mentoring me, and they don’t always understand that means the other seventy per cent of the time, I’m mentoring them.”
