MMF student Allen Li receives Peter Christoffersen MMF Award

Allen Li, a student in the Master of Management in Finance (MMF) program at McGill University, has received this year’s Peter Christoffersen MMF Award in recognition of his academic excellence and contributions to Desautels Capital Management (DCM), a student-run, licensed, and regulated investment firm designed to give McGill students invaluable industry experience. Li was praised for his stock pitch and valuation of CGI, a Canadian IT consulting company, which is now one of the fund's top performers. During the pandemic, he discovered a passion for trading and decided to pivot from his science background to pursue a career in finance. The Peter Christoffersen MMF Award was established in 2018 by the Desautels Faculty of Management in memory of Professor Peter Christoffersen, a renowned scholar of economics and finance who taught at McGill and the Rotman School of Management. The Award supports outstanding students entering or enrolled in the MMF and is awarded by the Master's Program Office on the basis of academic merit and demonstrated leadership skills.
