The Morty Yalovsky Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes excellence in academic leadership – starting with Yalovsky himself
Prof. Morty Yalovsky started teaching at McGill in 1969 - the same year that the Montreal Expos played their first Major League Baseball game. The Expos moved on nearly two decades ago, but Prof. Yalovsky has been enriching university life ever since. On March 28, he was honoured with a Desautels Lifetime Service Award for more than five decades of service to the Desautels Faculty of Management.
Now, a new award in his name will recognize others whose service to the university community is exemplary and inspiring. The Professor Morty Yalovsky Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Academic Leadership will honour academic staff who embody the characteristics that Prof. Yalovsky brought to his work: integrity, wisdom and good judgment, dedication to collegial governance, academic rigour, and institutional commitment.
