Congratulations to Amanda Abrams, Faculty Lecturer, and Elliot Lifson, Professor of Practice and Desautels Faculty Advisory Board member, who were honored at McGill’s Management Convocation ceremony for their excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels respectively.

The recipient of the inaugural Fetherstonhaugh Family Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award, Amanda Abrams is known among accounting students for creating stimulating and interactive presentations linked to real-world situations, as well as for her skill in encouraging classroom participation. Although her courses are challenging, her enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to building genuine relationships with students inspires them to work hard and strive for academic excellence.

Elliot Lifson, recipient of the inaugural Morty Yalovsky Distinguished Teaching Award, has been sharing his expertise in the area of Strategy & Organization at Desautels since 2005. Described by his graduate students as engaging, humble, and extremely knowledgeable, Elliot is a strong believer in integrating industry expertise with classroom theory. His students always appreciate the care put into his lectures, which incorporate relevant case studies and guest speakers regularly.
