McGill alumnus William Shatner (BCom’52) has been inducted into the Order of Canada, in recognition of his 60-year acting career and philanthropic work. Presented by Governor General Julie Payette, the Order of Canada is one of the nation’s highest civilian honours.

Desautels alumnus heads police initiative to lower rates of sexual exploitation

Longueuil police have proposed a new initiative called “John School”, which would educate individuals apprehended for soliciting prostitution as an alternative to criminal prosecution. Headed by McGill alumnus and chief of Longueuil police Fady Dagher (EMBA’2012), the initiative aims to educate first-time offenders of the realities of the sex trade and reduce rates of reoffending.
