Jay Lewis

Mr. Jay Lewis is a results-driven executive with extensive experience in equity capital markets and investment banking, providing a global and local perspective to his clients. Through extensive C-suite coverage, he has led his team to becoming the most active global bank in the Canadian equity capital markets.

Jay began his investment banking career in 1995 as an Associate at First Marathon Securities, and then joined National Bank Financial after First Marathon was acquired in 1999. Jay rose through the ranks to his last role as Managing Director, Equity Capital Markets and Investment Banking. In 2006, Jay moved to HSBC Securities to become the Head of Equity Capital Markets Canada. With over 25 years of capital markets experience, Jay has been involved in thousands of equity transactions for all sizes of companies raising in the aggregate tens of billions of dollars. Jay’s career has focused on the Mining, Energy, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Consumer and Retail sectors.

After graduating McGill with a B.Comm (Finance major) in 1989, Jay continued his studies earning an MBA from York University and a law degree from the University of British Columbia. Jay was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1995 before seeing the light and moving to investment banking.
