Li Ka Shing Program in International Business

Building relationships between McGill University and Shantou University while fostering ties between Canada and China.

The Li Ka Shing Program in International Business

The Li Ka Shing Program in International Business is a part of a larger agreement between McGill and the Li Ka Shing Foundation which is supporting initiatives in the Faculty of Arts, Law and Management over a five year period. The three programs are intended to create collaboration with Shantou University to build a relationship between the two universities and between Canada and China.

Based on McGill’s successful International Summer Program, a customized summer program welcomes 25 Shantou students to McGill to take two International Business courses in July over a 24 day period.

In alternate years, McGill students travel to China for a 21 day intensive summer program in Shantou University to take courses in Business in China and Chinese Culture and Language. The formal program includes lectures at Shantou, guest speakers and visits to businesses in Shantou, and also includes trips to Shanghai and Beijing to visit business leaders and alumni for the McGill students.
