June 2013 Third Pan American Conference on Obesity

The MCCHE was invited by his Excellency, Dr. Richard Visser, Aruba Minister of Health, Well Being & Sport to host a private workshop on June 6, 2013 entitled; Scaling Up Meaning and Successful Industry Engagement through Convergent Innovation. This workshop was held as part of the larger Third Pan-American Conference on Obesity (PACO III), with Special Attention to Childhood Obesity on June 7-8, 2013, in Oranjestad, Aruba.

The workshop provided a pragmatic and strategic framework of convergent innovation to scale up meaningful and successful business engagement for Whole-of-Society solutions that are not only biologically, individually, culturally, economically, or politically feasible, but also sustainable and resilient to prevent and control obesity and related NCDs. The workshop also served to advance agenda development for the CIC (an MCCHE-led approach to health & societal issues), with Minister Visser being one of the action leaders for the roadmap on obesity and NCD prevention.
