Management Masters Office achieves Gold-Level Sustainable Workplace Certification
Improvements in sustainability are often motivated by a desire to reduce environmental impact, but for the McGill Management Masters Office, friendly competition plays a role too. In 2021, Sustainable Workplace Ambassador Wesley McCoy challenged a colleague to see who could reach Bronze-level Sustainable Workplace Certification first. The Management Masters Office achieved that goal, and then some. It was recently certified at the gold level, and the effort has had a profound impact on work habits in the office, according to Lauren Houghton, also an Ambassador. “Everyone has become hyper-aware of the small things that can create a greater impact,” says Houghton. “We have pushed to remove any single use items, focused on proper division of waste, recycling, and favoured reusable items when purchasing give-away items for students.”
