Seed grants for faculty

The Centre for Strategy Studies in Organizations (CSSO) supports the execution and dissemination of high quality research in strategy and organization studies. To this end, the CSSO invites area members to apply for small research grants to a maximum of $4,000 each. These grants may be used to fund the recipient’s research, including material expenses (e.g., books, data, software) and research assistants. All expenses must conform to University policies. Travel and meals are excluded.

If you wish to apply for a grant, please submit a document of one page in length that briefly describes how you would use the funds, including budget.

Dissertation grant competition

The Centre for Strategy Studies in Organizations (CSSO) supports the execution and dissemination of high quality research in strategy and organization studies. To this end, the CSSO invites doctoral students in the Strategy & Organization Area to submit a proposal for the 2018 CSSO Dissertation Grant Competition.

Guidelines

  • Applicants must have passed their comprehensive exams.
  • Award winners will be selected based on the reviews and recommendations of a faculty adjudication committee.
  • Awards will be given to applicants who receive a high score on rigorous theoretical and methodological criteria.
  • Each winner will receive up to $4,000 reimbursable towards research expenses related to their dissertation.
  • Award winners are expected to acknowledge the CSSO in their dissertation and resulting papers.

PhD student conference funding

The Centre for Strategy Studies in Organizations (CSSO) supports the execution and dissemination of high quality research in strategy and organization studies. To this end, the CSSO will fund doctoral students in the Strategy & Organization Area to attend conferences.

Students are expected to attend a variety of these conferences in order to maximize exposure to various research communities.
