Dairy Information Systems Computing Resources
Researchers are each equipped with Pentium 4 (2.2 GHz) workstations, running XP Pro, for individual analyses.
These machines are connected to the powerful Sun Fire V880 Server with two additional StorEdge T3 storage systems. The complete solution is housed in the new facility and allows for the execution of complex analyses on large data sets.
Server configuration:
- 8 CPU (900 MHz);
- 32 GB of memory (RAM);
- 3.7 TB of storage space.
In addition, the server has an automated backup system as well as facilities to deal with power interruptions.
