Scholarships

Three scholarships are presently available to students in the Jewish Teacher Training Program (JTTP). In addition, undergraduate JTTP students are eligible for many of the awards offered by the Department of Jewish Studies in the Faculty of Arts. Students with Quebec residency who meet the eligibility criteria may also apply for a number of scholarships available through the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal.

Jack Schoel Scholarships

Value: $6,000 each

Two scholarships awarded annually for academic excellence to either incoming or continuing students in the Jewish Teacher Training Program. Awarded by the Faculty of Education Committee on Student Standing on the recommendation of the Director of the Program.

Dr. and Mrs Hirsch Rosenfeld Scholarship in Jewish Studies

Value: $1,300

Established in 1986 to commemorate an act of kindness by Sir Edward Beatty, then Chancellor of McGill University. Awarded by the Faculty of Education Committee on Student Standing, on the recommendation of the Director of the Jewish Teacher Training Program, to an undergraduate student in the Jewish Teacher Training Program or to a student entering the program from the B.A. Honours or Major in Jewish Studies in recognition of distinguished academic achievement.
