Peel Street Construction Project

Between April and July (approximately), the City of Montreal will complete phase two of the Peel reconstruction project. Construction will take place between 7am and 7pm Monday to Saturday. Please note this project is managed by the City of Montreal, the Faculty will keep you informed as we receive updates.

A few updates from the City during the construction: (Visit the original information in French)

  • During construction, all of Peel street will be closed between Sherbrooke and Pine Avenue. Limited local vehicle circulation will be allowed.
  • On occasion, there will be closures at the intersection of Peel and Dr. Penfield, no vehicle circulation will be allowed.
  • On occasion, there will be closures of Dr. Penfield Avenue, between Drummond / Sir-William-Osler and McTavish Streets. Local traffic will be allowed.
  • Change of direction of traffic on McTavish Street, between Pine Avenue and Dr. Penfield Avenue (southbound traffic) during some of the work.
  • Prohibited parking on both sides of Peel Street between Sherbrooke Street and Pine Avenue.
  • Possible modified bus stops for lines: 107, 144 and 360. Check STM website for details.
  • The usual collection times remain in effect, please continue to respect them. The contractor will move the bins and bags outside the work area. Please identify your bins to ensure they are returned to you as a result of the collection

McGill buildings should remain accessible at all times, including for reduced-mobility members of the community and for deliveries/pick-ups (please advise your vendors of the traffic disruptions described above.)

We have also requested that the City take all the necessary measures to ensure that disruptions are kept to a minimum during final exams.
