McGill Engineering International Doctoral Awards

McGill Engineering International Tuition Award

The MEITA provides competitive recruitment funding to continue attracting high calibre international doctoral students to the Faculty of Engineering’s PhD programs by contributing to the cost of their international PhD tuition supplement fee.

For graduate students starting as PhD1, there is a base of $3,000, plus over $15,300 covering the International Tuition Supplement, and an additional $19,500 provided by the supervisor/unit, totaling over $37,800 of funding per year. PhD1 students are entitled to 4 years of funding.

If the graduate student is starting as PhD2, there is a base of $3,000, plus over $15,300 covering the International Tuition Supplement, and an additional $19,500 provided by the supervisor/unit, totaling over $37,800 of funding per year. Since PhD2 students pay the domestic tuition rate in their fourth year, the above funding is available for 3 years, and funding will be reduced to $22,500 in the fourth year.
