Mobility Bursary for Exchanges

The University encourages students to study abroad as part of their McGill degree program by defraying part of the cost of eligible study abroad activities. We recognize that the additional costs of going on exchange may be difficult for some students to assume on their own. Thanks to the Quebec government’s Programme de mobilité international et de courts séjours à l’extérieur du Québec (PMICSE), McGill is able to help defray these costs for students who otherwise could not afford to participate.

The Mobility Bursary for Exchanges Program is administered by the Scholarships and Student Aid Office. Fore more information, please visit the Mobility Exchange website.

Why study abroad?

The Rio Tinto – Richard Evans International Exchange Awards (for McGill students only)

Established in 2009 by Rio Tinto Limited in honour of Richard Evans, formerly President of Rio Tinto Alcan Inc. Awarded to outstanding undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering’s engineering degree programs and in the Desautels Faculty of Management to support formal international education exchange, internship or other university sanctioned educational travel opportunities as a way of broadening their experience and ability to work effectively in diverse cultures and enterprises.

The Awards are open to all undergraduate students in the programs specified with a preference given to students with financial need and those from developing countries or those who have lived and/or worked in remote regions. Academic achievement will be the primary criteria for selecting the award recipients. Students selected should also embody the leadership values of personal responsibility, integrity, accountability and mutual respect. It is intended that collectively these awards are made in a way to reflect the diversity of the University student population.
