Research

Anorogenic felsic magmas, and associated metasomatic activity and mineralization; mineralogy of peraluminous and peralkaline granitic rocks; x-ray diffraction and electron microscopy applied to the characterization of the rock-forming minerals; the mineralogy of feldspar-group and platinum-group minerals in all crustal environments.

List Of Mineral Symbols

As a result of my long association with The Canadian Mineralogist, I have compiled a list of standard symbols for the minerals encountered in rocks and ore assemblages, and as products of their alteration. Using this list will avoid the proliferation of mineral symbols in the literature. I am happy to make this list of mineral symbols available for download.
