Babysitting Club Interest Sign-up

The Family Care Program is collaborating with SSMU to discuss the creation of a new club in the 2017-2018 year. This club will provide training to volunteer babysitters and people interested in working in family care, and it will connect students who need family care services to volunteers!

Student parents should have access to affordable childcare options on campus. A lack of daycare spaces as well as certain stipulations about who can access daycare make it even more difficult to ensure that everyone gets the care they need to be able to study and care for family members at the same time.

If you are interested in volunteering your time up to 3 hours per week as a babysitter, or if you are a McGill student parent/caregiver who would like to access this service please register your interest below. We are eager to connect volunteers and families to keep building up our community!

Land Acknowledgment

Map of Montreal

McGill University is situated on the traditional territory of the Kanien’keha:ka, a place which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst nations. We recognize and respects the Kanien’keha:ka as the traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which we meet today.*

Recognizing the history of where you stand is important, and becoming increasingly common practice when hosting events and activities across Canada.

Here are a few tips to remember if you want to make a land acknowledgment before a class presentation, in a written document, or when hosting an event.
