Class Scheduling Project - Objectives

- Vigilance in recording centrally the use of all instructional rooms on campus for future planning purposes
- Identify a software tool which can:
- optimize course choice for students
- optimize the use of space and time (rather than simply scheduling rooms)
- respect the pedagogical needs of the course
- incorporate the realities of physical proximities of various departments and buildings
- change schedules to integrate new course/programs without intensive manual effort
- Store accurate information on when individual professors are available to teach
- Engage academic units in developing policy and practices for class and room scheduling
- Enhance the room database to ensure that all pedagogically relevant attributes are captured.
