Current research:
The goal of my research program is to define cells of the central nervous system that respond to metabolic cues and in turn regulate energy balance.
Projects:
- Defining how disease states communicate with the central nervous system to reduce appetite and cause visceral malaise
- Understanding how the gastro-intestinal tract communicate meal composition and size to the central nervous system
- Studying how chronic energy surfeit alters body weight set points.
