Construction Start: Bronfman Building - Dobson Center

McGill University has mandated Construction SRJ to carry out the following project: Bronfman Building / 18-147 - Dobson Center project.

The renovation of the western end of the ground floor of the Desautels Faculty of Management’s Bronfman Building (1001 Sherbrooke St West) comprises the creation of a new Dobson Centre; the redesign of the Faculty’s mailroom and exam spaces; and the full renovation of the floor’s public washrooms.

Construction start date: Mobilization and set up: November 21, 2022. Start of demolition: November 29, 2022.

Planned construction end date: End of August 2023

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Scope of work: The interior work will affect the first floor and the first basement, with some short interventions planned in the parking garage. Modifications to the existing electromechanical systems, fire protection, reconfiguration for a new emergency exit are included. New AV and security accesses will be added.

Impact: 

  • First floor public washrooms will be completely closed for a period of time, for complete renovation.
  • Basement washrooms will be temporary out of use, for mechanical work in the ceiling.
  • The Sandiford space will be partially closed-off for electromechanical work in the ceiling.
