Maureen Doyle wins Family Doctor of the Year from the Collège Québécois des Médecins de Famille

Maureen Doyle, physician at the Department of Family Medicine who practices at the St. Mary’s Family Medicine Centre, wins “Family Doctor of the Year” from the Collège Québécois des Médecins de Famille (CQMF). The award recognizes those who exemplify the profile of the family physician, notably through exemplary care of their patients and a significant contribution to the health and well-being of their communities or society at large.

Practising since 1983, Dr. Maureen Doyle began her career in Ontario before moving to Quebec in 1992. Today she practices at the St. Mary’s Family Medicine Centre (U-FMG) where she is both a teaching clinician and administrator. Residency program director and director of her U-FMG since 2014, she is widely acclaimed for her leadership. Her communication skills have enabled her to play a key role in implementing innovative projects and changes within the residency program and her unit in recent years. A physician at heart, she is still in active practice with patients of all ages, whom she has been caring for with sensitivity and humanity for over 25 years. Much appreciated by her patients, Dr. Doyle is an inspiration to both colleagues and learners alike.
