Oral PhD defense for Hilah Silver
You are invited to the Oral Defense of Hilah Silver, a PhD candidate at the Department of Family Medicine.
Topic: Culturally safe births among Inuit from Nunavik

As a CIHR Patient-Oriented Research fellow, Hilah led the first phase of a longitudinal participatory project on culturally safe birth among Inuit from Nunavik. In collaboration with Inuit stakeholders and perinatal service providers, her dissertation focused on co-designing culturally safe services in the context of childbirth evacuation and community-based birth in Nunavik. Her research suggests that routine childbirth evacuation is unlikely to improve existing inequities in Inuit birth outcomes.
