Ran van der Wal rewarded with Vanier Graduate Scholarship

We wish to congratulate Ran van der Wal, PhD candidate in Family, for being among the latest cohort of Vanier Canada Scholars for 2018-2019. 

Her research focuses on helping vulnerable young women in Botswana by co-design solutions to improve access to government support programs through a structural approach to HIV prevention. To learn more, click here.

Launched in 2008 to strengthen Canada’s ability to attract and retain world-class doctoral students, the Vanier Scholarship program recognizes students who demonstrate excellent leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, or health-related fields. 

The Vanier is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
