What is 1st Up?

1st Up is a peer support group for McGill students who self-identify as first generation. Facilitated by First-Gen students, the group offers emotional and academic support in an informal, peer-to-peer structure. Meet-ups cover a variety of topics including navigating the university experience, social justice issues, and self-care strategies.

We would like to acknowledge that McGill University is located on unceded land, which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg nations.
