COVID-19 Update

Further to Quebec government directives, McGill University campuses will be closed until further notice. All Campus Life & Engagement in-person activities including workshops and events are cancelled or postponed to a later date. Please check your email for updates. We will be providing limited services through virtual means and will respond to firstyear [at] mcgill.ca (emails) during our regular hours 10:00AM – 4:30PM, Monday to Friday.

Want to meet other new students and stay updated on the biggest Orientation event at McGill? Then make sure to keep an eye out for and join the Discover McGill Day.

Discover McGill is the campus-wide University welcome day to kick off Orientation Week. You don't want to miss it! It's a fun and energetic day for you to experience with your entire incoming class. It starts with a dynamic University Orientation Welcome Event, and includes a Services for Students Fair. The day also includes an important Faculty Orientation session that will address your academic questions. Your attendance is crucial because you will learn how your wellness is supported overall at McGill. 


Tuesday, August 27, 2019 - at Molson Stadium. Event starts at 9:30 am, gates open at 8:45am.  See you there!

An important part of the day is the Discover McGill Services FairInvest in yourself by preparing to make the most of your experience at the Fair by taking a look to see who will be there and what they can answer for you.  You'll be glad you did!  

Pizza lunch is provided:  Dietary accommodations will be made for kosher, gluten free, lactose free, vegetarian and vegan diets.  Although we do our best to provide the widest possible selection, should you have any dietary restrictions other than those noted, then please ensure that you bring sufficient food with you for the day.  We appreciate your understanding.

Here are some tips to help you best enjoy Discover McGill Day:

  • Have a good breakfast!
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes (no heels allowed on Molson Stadium turf).
  • Sunblock and hats are recommended.
  • Refillable water bottle.
  • A small bag is optional.
  • If possible, leave important documents at home.
