Bettina Bradbury

Bettina Bradbury is a feminist family historian. She has been a member of the Montreal History Group since the 1980s. She is the author of Working Families: Age, Gender and Daily Survival in Industrializing Montreal (1993, 2007) and Wife to Widow. Lives, Laws and Politics in Nineteenth-Century Montreal (Vancouver:, UBC Press, 2011). Her current research explores the significance of questions of marriage, property and inheritance to the making of white settler societies of the British Empire, specifically, Quebec, the Cape, Australia and New Zealand.
