Biography: 

Dr. Kronfli's research focuses on designing, deploying, and evaluating evidence-based models of care through implementation science research to increase engagement along the hepatitis C virus care cascade for incarcerated populations. As an international leader in the elimination of hepatitis C in carceral settings, Dr. Kronfli conducts research focused on improving access to testing and treatment, as well as harm reduction services, in both Canadian federal and provincial prisons. She is the Vice-Chair of the International Network of Health and Hepatitis among Substance Users – Prisons (https://www.inhsu.org/the-network/inhsu-prisons/) and a Principal Investigator of the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (https://www.canhepc.ca/en). In recent years, she has expanded her research to include other sexually transmitted and bloodborne viruses such as HIV and hepatitis B. The ultimate goal of Dr. Kronfli’s research is to support the development of evidence-based policies to improve carceral population health.
