The McGill Global Health Programs, Institute for the Study of International Development (ISID), and the Arnold and Blema Steinberg Medical Simulation Centre are happy to welcome Flanders Family Visiting Professor Dr. Jishnu Das, Lead Economist, Development Research Group at the World Bank.

Dr. Das’ work focuses on the delivery of basic services, particularly health and education. He has worked on the quality of health care, mental health, information in health and education markets, child learning and test-scores and the determinants of trust. His work has been published in leading economics, health and education journals and widely covered in the media and policy forums. In this seminar, Dr. Das will be discussing the "big puzzle in healthcare": the gap between knowledge and practice; its severe implications for patients around the world and what can be done about it.

Refreshements will be served.

McGill University is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. McGill honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
