Religious Studies (M.A.)

Program Description

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Religious Studies (Non-Thesis) offered by the School of Religious Studies in the Faculty of Arts is a course-based program that emphasizes engaging and innovative learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in resourceful thinking, academic writing, and communication to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

Unique Program Features

  • The School is affiliated with the Montreal Diocesan Theological College of the Anglican Church of Canada, the Presbyterian College Montreal, and the United Theological College of the United Church of Canada;
  • Students typically receive external and internal funding in addition to funding for travel for the purposes of research (including archival research or field work) and the dissemination of research (including conference presentations and talks).

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
