Biography: 

Dr. Lucas Caire da Silva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University, specializing in the design of biomimetic materials such as artificial cells and synthetic organelles with applications in catalysis and biotechnology. Dr. Caire da Silva received his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Florida (2015) under the supervision of Prof. Kenneth Wagener. Before coming to McGill, Dr. Caire da Silva led a research group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Germany (2020-2023) focusing on biomimetic materials.

He is dedicated to research, teaching, and mentoring future scientists.
