Principal Suzanne Fortier has announced that Spring 2020 graduates will be honoured during not one, but two, Convocation ceremonies! The first will be a virtual ceremony for graduates, their families and friends across the globe. The second will be the postponement of the in-person Spring 2020 ceremonies to Spring 2021, provided that recommendations from government and public health authorities allow us to gather together safely at that time. Information on the virtual ceremony along with an FAQ are now posted. More information will follow on the postponed in-person ceremonies in the coming weeks.

Spring 2020 Convocation Feedback Form

Determining ways to recognize our graduating students remains top of mind during this time. The Convocation Subcommittee has been meeting regularly to actively explore the feasibility of both virtual ceremonies and postponed in-person celebrations (which are not mutually exclusive). Though the uncertainty of the current crisis means we may not know for some time whether—and if so, when—the latter might be possible, it is integral during the planning phases to gather feedback and ideas from all areas of McGill. All members of the McGill community, and especially students set to graduate in Spring 2020, are invited to submit their thoughts to the Convocation Subcommittee using this webform.

Submissions will close on April 27, 2020 at 5pm ET.
