Polishing Your Fellowship Application for Concision and Clarity

One of the challenges of fellowship writing is how to use the space allotted to communicate clearly and concisely.  This hands-on workshop will provide participants with tips and practice on how to edit text without losing the integrity of their ideas.

Participants will:

  • learn tips and strategies for editing
  • practice editing sample texts for concision and clarity
  • apply these techniques to their own work

To make the workshop as productive as possible, please bring:

-one hard copy of your fellowship application including the funding agency's prompts and your responses to these prompts (draft version is fine)

-paper and pen/pencil to write with

This workshop will be led by Sarah Wolfson, a Course Lecturer at the McGill Writing Centre with ten years of experience teaching composition and academic writing.

The workshop will be held on McGill’s downtown campus on Tuesday, October 9, 3:00 pm to  5:00 pm. Registrants will receive the workshop location in a confirmation email.
