Strategies for Effective Outlining

Have you struggled to develop a clear structure for your academic writing projects? One of the biggest challenges academic writers face is developing a cohesive text in which the pieces are sequenced in a logical order.

Participate in this workshop and you will learn strategies for:

  • Organizing your ideas and shaping your argument
  • Structuring a piece of writing
  • Working from a structured outline when articulating an argument

Please come to this workshop with an idea for a writing project that you want to outline.

Marc Ducusin is a PhD candidate in the Department of English. A two-time SSHRC recipient, he is completing his dissertation on Victorian sensation fiction and English sexology. The workshop will be held on McGill's downtown campus on Thursday, March 9 from 1pm to 3pm.  Registrants will receive the workshop location in a confirmation email.
