Le Concours Graham Sommer pour jeunes compositeurs invite les membres du public à entrer dans l’univers de la composition lors du concert et gala de remise des prix le dimanche 26 septembre 2021. Cinq nouvelles œuvres par les finalistes, pour trio de piano , seront créées en concert par le Trio Graham Sommer.

Le jury sélectionnera les gagnants des 1er, 2e et 3 prix de mention honarable, pour un total de 33 000 $.

Le public, dans la Salle Pollack ou visionnant la webdiffusion, choisira le gagnant du prix « coup de coeur du public » (6 000 $).

Vous pouvez voter en ligne suivant l'interprétation de la dernière œuvre, pendant la délibération du jury. Les gagnants seront annoncés dans la Salle Pollack après la délibération.

  • Ce bulletin de vote sera disponible pendant un minimum d'une demi-heure, le samedi 26 septembre 2021.

    • Absolute, par Jared Miller: 1ère œuvre jouée

    • Still There, par Matthew Ricketts: 2e œuvre jouée

    • The National Anthem, par Alec Hall: 3e œuvre jouée

    • Burning in Clarity, par Michael Kim-Sheng: 4e œuvre jouée, immédiatement après la pause

    • Hublots, par Laurence Jobidon: 5e œuvre jouée

GSC People's Choice Award 2021 ($6,000)

The Graham Sommer Competition for Young Composers invites audience members into the world of composition at the 2018 Concert and Prize Gala on Saturday, September 29. New works for piano and string quartet by the five finalists are being premiered by pianist Sara Laimon and the Molinari Quartet.

The jury will select the winners of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th prizes, for a total of $40,000.

The audience, in Pollack Hall or online watching the webcast, will choose the People's Choice Award winner ($6,000).

You can vote online after the final work is performed, while the jury deliberates. The winners of all prizes will be announced after the jury deliberations.

Voting guidelines

  • Select your favourite composition from tonight's concert!

  • Do not vote more than once.

  • Voting will be open for a minimum of 30 minutes on Saturday, September 26, 2021.

  • Works are listed in order of performance:

    • Absolute, by Jared Miller: 1st piece performed

    • Still There, by Matthew Ricketts: 2nd piece performed

    • The National Anthem, by Alec Hall: 3rd piece performed

    • Burning in Clarity, by Michael Kim-Sheng: 4th piece performed, immediately after intermission

    • Hublots, by Laurence Jobidon: 5th piece performed
