HBHL-SKILLSETS presents...

When: Tuesday, October 16 from 6:30-8:30pm

Where: Bell Room, Montreal Neurological Institute
(If you are unable to attend in-person and would like to watch the session online, please email hbhl [at] mcgill.ca. However, please note that online participants will have reduced access to the discussion, practise and individual feedback provided in-person).

What do you say when a researcher approaches you at a conference and asks what you study? Or, when a potential employer asks you to summarize your Master’s/PhD project during a job interview?

At this workshop, you will learn how to clearly explain your research and get others excited about your work in under 2 minutes. You will be guided through the process of writing two draft elevator pitches for your own project - one for academic audiences, and one for non-academic audiences.

All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided.

Please note that this workshop will focus on developing the content of your elevator pitch. To learn more about public speaking skills, please also attend the next HBHL-SKILLSETS workshop on October 23.

Please register using the form below.

We would like to acknowledge that McGill University is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg nations. McGill honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we meet.
