Horizon McGill will streamline our processes, explore new ways of optimizing academic program delivery, and benchmark our administrative and support processes against similar research-intensive universities.
On February 7, 2025, Christopher Manfredi, Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic), and Fabrice Labeau, Vice-President (Administration and Finance), announced a series of necessary measures to eliminate McGill’s projected operating deficits over the next three fiscal years.
McGill must take action to protect its long-term sustainability. While we hope this can be partially achieved with new revenues, it’s clear that major cuts will be needed as well.
To ensure the success of this vital work, the University is launching a new initiative, Horizon McGill, which will streamline our processes, explore new ways of optimizing academic program delivery, and benchmark our administrative and support processes against similar research-intensive universities.
