Labour & employee relations

Two people talking with each other

The Labour and employee relations group is responsible for managing labour issues and negotiating collective agreements with 14 unions across the University. We also manage the personnel policies and procedures that govern non-unionized staff benefits, pay and working conditions. This represents altogether a total of about 9,000 employees.

Our team of seasoned HR advisors works closely with managers responsible for staff supervision in dozens of faculties, departments and administrative units on both McGill campuses.

We strive for active dialogue with all employee groups throughout the year.  We regularly benchmark with other Québec and Canadian universities in offering fair and competitive working conditions to all McGill employees.
