Picturing Research

The photographs in this exhibition were produced by second-year PhD students in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill University, who all captured images and created captions in response to the prompt "what is research?"  We each interpreted the prompt in our way, and the resulting photographs and captions explore how differently we think about research. Despite the individual differences, however, some common themes emerged: the notion of investigating, exploring, making sense of the unknown, and working toward social action. Picturing Research was curated by Sara Hashem (in collaboration with members of the cohort).
