2 Spirits at McGill Gathering

A 2 Spirits at McGill Gathering will take place on Wednesday, May 17 from 9:00-3:30 pm in the Arts 150 Auditorium (McGill downtown campus). The event is free to attend and registration is required. Please email Dr. Ben Geboe at ben.geboe [at] mail.mcgill.ca to register. 

This event is made possible through the support of the American Indian Community House, Indigenous Access McGill (McGill School of Social Work), the Montreal Indigenous Community Network, and the Two-Spirit Indigiqueer Circle.

The agenda for the day includes:

  • 9:00 am: Signing of MMIW-P memorial banner
  • 9:30 am: Words of welcome from Elder Sedelia
  • 10:00 am: Coffee break
  • 10:30-10:50 am: Diane Labelle
  • 10:50-11:10 am: Margaret Kisikaw Piyesis
  • 11:10-11:20 am: Dr. Albert McLeod
  • 11:20-11:35 am: Showing the banner
  • 11:40-1:00 pm: Lunch provided
  • 1:00-1:20 pm: Robbie Madsen
  • 1:20-3:00 pm: Dr. Ben Geboe, ICD 10 petition and brainstorming for community concerns document, to be circulated with Indigenous leadership organizations and community advocates and presented to governments (local, provincial, federal)
  • 3:00 pm: Afternoon coffee and tea break
  • 3:30 pm: Closing prayer, MMIW-P banner
