McGill offers several programs with Indigenous-focused content. The University seeks to work with students, faculty, staff, and communities to develop respectful ways of sharing knowledge, and of providing flexible in-community learning options for students.

The Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) designs, develops, and administers programs that are offered in First Nations and Inuit communities for First Nations and Inuit teachers and aspiring teachers. OFNIE works in partnership with First Nations and Inuit education authorities throughout Quebec – namely, the Kativik Ilisarniliriniq, the Cree School Board, the Kahnawà:ke Education Centre, and the Listuguj Education Directorate – to deliver community-based teacher certification and professional development programs.

The Indigenous Studies Program is currently a minor program in the Faculty of Arts. ISP provides students with a broad interdisciplinary perspective on key issues relating to the historical, social and cultural dimensions of Indigenous life in Canada. The program focuses on the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada, Indigenous art and culture, experiences of Indigeneity and gender, and the legacy of Indigenous resistance to the Canadian state. ISP is also involved in organizing outreach and events.

The Indigenous Health Professions Program is part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. It aims to train more Indigenous healthcare professionals, and to educate all healthcare workers about Indigenous peoples' health needs.
