49th Preston Robb Neuroscience Day

The event honours the career and memory of Preston Robb, who is considered one of the founders of Canadian child neurology. Dr. Robb started pediatric neurology at the MCH. He was a pioneer epileptologist and a Director of The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).

Call For Abstracts

This year the abstract presentations are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., preceding the Preston Robb Neuroscience Lecture. Presentations will be 10 minutes long with 5 minutes for questions.

We invite you to submit abstracts on any neuroscience-related topic (up to 150 words). Please submit your abstract, including the title and co-author(s), by Friday, November 1, 2024. Submit your abstract here.

Glen Site: Built in 2015, the RI-MUHC at the Glen site emphasizes the importance of translational research by grouping laboratory, clinical and evaluative research in close proximity. Jim Dowling

Dr. James Dowling is a clinician-scientist focused on gene discovery and therapy development for childhood muscle diseases. Dr. Dowling received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Yale University and his MD/PhD from the University of Chicago. His PhD work was performed in the laboratory of Elaine Fuchs. He did his residency in child neurology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and completed postdoctoral research with Jeff Golden (UPenn) and Eva Feldman (University of Michigan). Before coming to Toronto, he was an assistant professor at the University of Michigan from 2009 to 2013.
