The 2024-2025 Neuro Epilepsy Lecture Series will include eight lectures covering hot topics in basic and clinical epilepsy research. Speakers will include distinguished leaders and rising stars, with the goal of bridging basic research and clinical perspectives.

Abstract: Cognitive impairments, including attention deficits are prevalent among children with epilepsy. The lecture will discuss multi-factorial causes of cognitive impairments with a focus on the role of transient effects of single interictal discharges. Novel approaches to rescue cognitive deficits through AI-informed closed loop stimulation paradigms will be discussed with a view towards improved cognitive outcomes in affected children.
