Information Seeking

A look into the information seeking behaviour of millennials

The goal of our research is to investigate the metaliteracy knowledge and skills of millennials when seeking and using information not only for academia but also for their day-to-day lives. Our target population is the undergraduate students at different stages of their studies and across multiple disciplines. The overarching question of our research is:

What are the characteristics of the students’ metaliteracy knowledge and skills when seeking and using information for academia and for everyday life, and what factors may impact the students’ metaliteracy knowledge and skills?

Ultimately, by identifying all the characteristics and factors, a metaliteracy model may be constructed as a roadmap to guide future researchers, and to help practitioners to design and develop more effective and efficient pedagogical tools to assist the millennials in their information seeking and use.
