My Neighbour's Faith: Carols by Candlelight
The festive season is round the corner and what better way to celebrate than by singing with joy? Caroling is an important element of the Christmas season for many Christians and MORSL is planning an interactive visit to the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul to learn more about this rich cultural tradition as well as the meaning and celebration of Christmas.
We have been graciously invited to meet the organist Jonathan Oldengarm, tour the church, and enjoy a communal dinner before the beautiful Carols by Candlelight Service. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage in interfaith learning and musical celebration which also goes towards your co-curricular record!
The event is free for all eligible students but registration is required through the MORSL webpage. Hurry as places are limited!
Part of the "My Neighbour’s Faith" series of visits to religious organizations and sacred sites around Montreal to learn about different faith traditions, observe a religious practice, and ask questions of community members. After a guided visit, participants join members of this congregation for a community meal followed by a Q&A to gain a better understanding of the meaning of music in this holiday for members of this faith community. Through exposure, dialogue and experiential learning, students who participate in these visits become better equipped to live harmoniously in a pluralistic society.
