My Neighbour's Faith: Sufi Centre of Montreal

Saturday, November 11, 2023 16:45to21:00
Concordia Multifaith and Spirituality Centre, 2090 Rue MacKay, Montreal, Quebec, CA
My Neighbour

Join MORSL and Concordia's MFC as we visit the Sufi Centre of Montreal. Sufism is a mystic body of practice in Islam. Sufis seek to embody the way of past prophets and practice Divine remembrance, meditation, and service to others. During this event, we will witness/experience:

  • the worship space a local Sufi community uses
  • a spiritual conversation between the local Sufi Centre leader and the community
  • a weekly ritual, which is a collective remembrance of God that includes chanting
  • Songs in praise of God and the prophet Muhammad
  • Dinner and conversation with the Sufi community at 8:30 PM

We will gather at Concordia's Multi-faith and Spirituality Centre located at 2090 Mackay St. at 4:45 PM and travel to the Centre together. The worship event we attend will be from 6-9 PM, with dinner served at the end at 8:30 PM

Dress code:

Dress should be business casual (no jeans with holes or very casual clothing). Both men and women are expected to have their shoulders and legs covered. We recommend wearing a head covering for women, but this is not required.
