From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

We know about the importance of networking, but how do you make those connections spark? Do you wonder what makes conversation flow? How to get people to want to help you? Return your emails or social media outreach? Come to this workshop to learn more about the do's and don'ts of professional communication when networking.

The Zoom meeting link will be sent to all registrants in advance of the course start time. All confirmed attendees will receive a copy of the slides directly following the course.

By attending this course, you will be able to:

1) Learn strategies for effective professional communication in the context of networking
2) Break down good examples and not-so-good examples to come up with key approaches to:
-Reaching out
-Asking for an informational interview
-Following up
3) Share ideas for appropriate and useful questions in informational interviews
4) Feel more confident about making meaningful connections with new people
