Teaching Abroad Information Session

Tuesday, November 7, 2023 06:30to08:00

Are you interested in teaching abroad? Not sure where to start?

Attend the Teaching Abroad: Reality & Myths information session on Tuesday, November 7 at 6:30 PM to find out!

In this session, Allison from Aurelia Education Ltd. will help you explore the possibilities, learn the process, and understand how to prepare for teaching abroad!

This session is for pre-service teachers studying at McGill (MATL, and all BEd specializations – PhysEd, K/Elem, Secondary, Music). 30-minute Q&A to follow the presentation.

This is a great opportunity to gain some insights on the following:

  • Why teach abroad?
  • What does the job search looks like?
  • The role of a recruiter
  • Potential costs - what's covered, what's not
  • Types of schools and teaching environments
  • Time frames to secure a job
  • The interview process
  • Academic calendars
  • What makes a good candidate
  • Support available - during the hiring process and while abroad

McGill University is on land which long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous people whose footsteps have marked this territory on which peoples of the world now gather. Learn more.
