Teaching Abroad Information Session for McGill Education students

Thursday, November 4, 2021 18:00to19:00

Are you interested in teaching abroad? Not sure where to start?

Come to the Teaching Abroad: Expectations & Reality information session on Thursday November 4th at 6:00 PM (ET) to find out!

In this session, Allison from Aurelia Education Ltd. will help you explore the possibilities, learn the process, and understand how to prepare for teaching abroad!

This session is for pre-service teachers studying at McGill (MATL, and all BEd specializations – PhysEd, K/Elem, Secondary, Music). 15-minute Q&A to follow the presentation.

This is a great opportunity to gain some insights on the following:

  • Why teach abroad?
  • What does the job search looks like?
  • The role of a recruiter
  • Potential costs - what's covered, what's not
  • Types of schools and teaching environments
  • Time frames to secure a job
  • The interview process
  • Academic calendars
  • What makes a good candidate
  • Support available - during the hiring process and while abroad
