While hackers want to trick you, McGill IT Services wants to treat you to lunch.
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and McGill IT Services wants to treat a lucky cyber-savvy winner with lunch for two on us at the McCord Museum Café Bistro.
Here’s how the contest works…simply register for the “IT Security Awareness - SANS video library” in myCourses, complete the three featured modules, and score 100% on the quizzes (trust us, they’re easy!). Your name will be entered in the draw which will take place on October 31.
You will be doing your part to make yourself and McGill safer from those cyber-tricksters who will be around long after the ghosts of Halloween have floated away.
Here are the details
The contest is open to all McGill students, staff and faculty. Simply complete the following steps:
- Login to myCourses
- Register for the “IT Security Awareness - SANS video library” by clicking the link in the Self-Registration Courses widget on the myCourses homepage.
- Watch these three modules (links available on the “IT Security Awareness - SANS video library” homepage):
- Email & Messaging
- Social Networks
- Complete and score 100% on the quiz at the end of each module. You can repeat the quiz if you do not earn 100%, and you can check your grade under the “Grades” tab.
The deadline for completing the quizzes is 5:00 pm, October 30.
What does the winner get?
One name will be drawn for a lunch for two at the McCord Museum Café Bistro.
The draw will take place in the lobby of 680 Sherbrooke West at 12:30 pm on October 31.
The winner will be notified by email.
