Professor Raymond Klibansky (1995-2005) - philosopher, historian and activist for tolerance and dialogue – was a member of McGill’s Department of Philosophy from 1946 to 1976 and a central figure in 20th century philosophy. His library is now in McLennan Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections.
A refugee from Nazi Germany, who served with the British Political Warfare Executive during World War II,Klibansky was involved in post-war pacifism and denazification programs.
Peter Feldstein, BA’84, a recipient of Canada’s highest literary award for translation, will speak on the challenges of translating “Le Philosophe et la Mémoire du siècle, Entretiens avec Georges Leroux” (2000).
